Even though in the solution video Greg explains why “Acquiesce to” option is correct for the 3rd blank, it is still unclear why “tolerate” is wrong.
When I solved the 3rd blank, I filled in " allow" into the blank before looking at the options.
When I saw the options, I chose the option “tolerance” which means to allow or to permit.
But when I googled the definition of Acquiesce and tolerance, both were having “allow” as their synonym. So, is there a subtle difference in meaning between Acquiesce and Tolerance, which I am missing out?
