1 month till GRE second attempt - need advice pertinent to my situation

Please let me know if this question would be better suited as a personal email to Greg.

Context:
Took the GRE recently after about a month of studying (without GregMAT), these were the results:
Q: 161
V: 158
Essay: 4 (no prep)

Need: Schools I’m applying to are fairly competitive, with my program placing a strong emphasis on quant. I need 168 minimum in quant, 160+ in verbal, don’t care much for the essay. Of course, ideally I’d like a 340.

Current Situation: Registered to take GRE again on the 7th of February, giving me 30 days. I work a full-time job and also have to spend time on college apps, but am willing to do what it takes to ace the GRE in the time I have left. I’m just unsure as to where I should be focusing my limited time and energy to get the best results and would greatly appreciate any advice on the same. I’m attaching my GRE diagnostic reports for verbal and quant below for reference. Presently I’ve signed up for the 1-month plan, which seems a bit tedious - however, willing to try and see that through if that’s what’s recommended with my results.

@gregmat - Could you please provide some guidance?

Before I give specific advice, it’s important that we find out how strong your quant foundation and vocabulary is.

The first thing I would do is test your foundations in quant and vocabulary. You can let me know how you do on them for further advice.

For foundations in quant, can you take these quizzes below untimed? Don’t look up anything beforehand to get an honest assessment. You don’t have to take them all at once.

For verbal, can you test your knowledge of 30 random words (groups 1 - 34) here: Home - GregMat - GregMat

Hey Greg, ty for the response and for the test links. I took the first three tests and here are my scores:

Arithmetic - 41/50
Algebra - 33/36
Coordinate Geometry - 31/38

I do feel like in each of these I definitely made 2-3 silly mistakes where conceptually I feel like I understand the concept. Let me know what you recommend for these 3 topics.

I will take the rest of the foundation tests within the next day or so and update you ASAP.

Thank you

I would finish taking the rest and follow up

Hey Greg, here are all the scores:

Arithmetic - 41/50
Algebra - 33/36
Coordinate Geometry - 31/38
Geometry - 38/44
DA Part 1 - 19/30
DA Part 2 - 25/41
DA Part 3 - 10/15

Verbal - 16/30

I do feel like in each of these I definitely made 2-3 silly mistakes where conceptually I feel like I understand what’s being asked. My DA is definitely weaker than other quant topics…

Please let me know the next course of action. I appreciate your help.

Thank you

Hi @gregmat !

Just following up on this thread. I know you’re very busy so I really appreciate any guidance you might be able to provide on a plan of study given that my exam is 3 weeks away. For reference, here are my scores from the foundational tests:

Arithmetic - 41/50
Algebra - 33/36
Coordinate Geometry - 31/38
Geometry - 38/44
DA Part 1 - 19/30
DA Part 2 - 25/41
DA Part 3 - 10/15

Verbal - 16/30

My DA is certainly weaker than other topics in Quant, and my verbal score isn’t great either. Given the time constraints, I’m wondering what the best course of action is here.

Thank you once again,
Ashay

It looks like you have to close those holes in data analysis for sure (modules 10 through 12 of the I’m Overwhelmed Plan).

Alright, I’ll focus on doing that for DA. Do you have any specific guidance for other Quant topics and Reading/Vocab? I was planning on just using a combination of Prepswift & the I’m overwhelmed plan.

For verbal, I would recommend working through one of the study plans, either the 1-month or 2-month.
