A simple Remainder problem

How 45*0 has the remainder of 18? Please help.

You can write the information of the first sentence as -

n = 45x + 18 where x can be 0,1,2,3ā€¦
Now, you can take 9 as a common factor and rewrite as -

n = 9(5x + 2) ā†’ which tells us that n is divisible by 9

Thanks but Iā€™m not looking for the solution actually. I would like to know how 45*0 has a remainder of 18 in this case.

(45*0 + 18) has a remainder of 18 right?

got it. thanks
