so the second blank is obvious, which is rejected, but in the first blank why not disquieted ritual rather than cherished tradition. There is no proof for disquieted, but is there a proof for cherished?

here , in the third blank, i thought either volubility prolixity(supported by ample) or the opposite of densely forbidding can suit the blank, isn’t opposite if densely forbidding pellucidity?
I guess you could cross out “disquieting ritual” because “disquieting” has a negative connotation. Also, according to the excerpt, people living in that state like to drive fast. And they drive long distances. So, It is not unusual of them to drive faster, exceeding the speed limit. Perhaps they have been practicing this for a long time, and eventually it has become a cherished tradition.

Wrote four books in six years = an ample output
In the past, he didn’t compose poems that much and his poems are severe and densely forbidding. Lately, it has changed, and he has been writing a lot. Yet, one thing hasn’t changed, his poetry is as throny as ever.
Pellucidity is the opposite of "thorny”, I think.
