A tricky function problem (quant comparison)

I’m stuck on this problem… The answer is C. Could someone please explain why? Thank you for your time!

I thought it would be 1/(2^4) + 2^(0) + 1/(2^4), which is 1/16 + 1 + 1/16. That is bigger than 1, so I chose A.

You havent seen the question properly its f(-4)+f(0) - f(4).
So, 1/16+1-1/16 which is 1
