Hello everyone!
About me: I’m a recent computer engineering graduate from India, working as a software engineer. Love to play volleyball on weekends.
I want to pursue my masters’ in computer science, hence preparing for the GRE. I have a decent grasp of mathematics, I really enjoyed grinding the engineering math questions in college. So quant isn’t that much of a problem for me, but I’d like to get a score as near-perfect as possible because a good quant percentile will drastically improve my chances of getting into a top uni. Being a non-native English speaker, verbal is a hiccup for me, but I hope with practice it gets better Anything above a 155 would be great to have.
I had a Magoosh Premium subscription, and I would solve one set (20 questions) each of quant and verbal every weekday. I used to get satisfactory scores there and have scored at least a 318(166Q/152V) in mocks (not ETS ones). My best mock score has been 327 (166Q/161V) in a Princeton mock test, but after seeing Greg’s video about how test prep companies suck, I’m not sure how much water the scores hold
I haven’t yet touched a single writing task, mostly because it feels really daunting to me for some reason. I always feel like I’d go blank and eat up all of my 30 mins just staring at the screen. I hope to get decent practice for writing as well with the 2-month plan.
Really happy to be here, and I’d love to hear your pointers/tips on how to go about it!
