Advice on TOEFL vocab and listening

Hi @gregmat

I wanted to ask couple of questions and your advice for me. Firstly, I have been attempting the vocab quiz without going through the vocab flashcards and I’m constantly able to score at least 27/30 in each and every quiz so far. Is that an indication that I don’t need to study much for vocab?

Secondly, I’ve been attempting the listening tasks present in the practice tests of TOEFL official guide. I’ve noticed that I get almost all of them correct without taking any notes. In fact taking notes distracts me and not taking them proved beneficial. What would be your advice in this case?

Hi!

  1. Hard to say for sure. It’s definitely a good sign but I would really need to make sure your vocab knowledge is strong. If you go to Day 32 of the Vocab Mountain and then hit “shuffle everything,” how many words would you know in the random group 1?

  2. If you’re getting perfect or nearly perfect, you’re probably good to do it your way.
