I am a Norwegian ready to start my prep for writing the GRE for master’s applications in the fall of this year. I already did the GRE once to get an idea of it in the fall of 2023 (and got V159, Q155, IE5.5 with a hasty 4-week prep).
My goal now is at least V160 and Q163, so I need to focus more on quant this time. I plan to do the test once in May and once again in July/August, but I am open to more if recommended. I used Prepswift in 2023 for quant and flashcards for vocabulary. Now I really want to set up a detailed and structured plan, and I am reaching out to the ones among you who spent months prepping, and how you would recommend going about it. I am thinking about things like:
starting with Greg’s 2 months study plan?
incorporating reading (AL Daily vs. The Economist?, daily vs. weekly?)
bedside books to read
flashcards or not
error log?
How many times should I do the actual test?
etc.
basically any tips you would give or things you wish you knew earlier!
Thanks for the advice. I find myself really confused with the different study plans. I want to build my foundations well, and it seems like both study plans, PrepSwift and the overwhelmed study plans are recommended. Now it even says on the PrepSwift frontpage that the overwhelmed plan is a ‘better’ way of going through Quant.
Is there some article with advantages and disadvantages of the different approaches? How would I know if the 1 or 2 month plan is better for me, compared to PrepSwift regular or PrepSwift overwhelmed, for example?
