Advisable to give a test attempt before 22nd September with the old pattern?

Here is the deal. I got a score of 314 (152V and 162Q) in the first diagnostic Powerprep test after a week of following GregMat’s 1-month plan. I’m yet to see a lot of words in the vocab list, yet I’ve received a good score(according to me). Should I attempt, say, 19th September with the old pattern? Here is my logic, The new GRE pattern would have fewer questions; hence every mistake will be more costly than it is now. If I get a poor score, I would repeat the test with the new pattern.

If giving it a second time doesn’t break a big hole in your pocket then I like this idea of giving the test earlier (the old pattern) but remember that you can only give your second attempt after 21 days from your previous attempt.

Yes actually, 21 days after that would again be a very sweet spot for me. It affects me financially yes, however I feel there is a benefit to that, however I would like to know if people are aware that the new format would penalise people more then the old one. Logically it should however they might tweak it so who knows.

Does ETS state this officially or this is your personal view on the situation?

My personal logical view, I can be wrong

I had a similar point of view.
