Algebra question - Ounces

Hey,
For this question what I did was -

first get the % - 25%, 75%
and then I saw 200 6 ounce and we wanted 12 ounce

so I simple divided the 6 ounce qty by 2 → since we would need half the quantity if the ounces double up

so 100 12 ounce and then simply multiplied it by 25% to get the answer of 25.

is this approach incorrect or lead to incorrect answers in case of other questions?

Might be a silly doubt, but just wanted to be sure

Your approach is correct. You as usual need to be careful and organized to not make errors. Maybe, you solve this question in the GRE but have time to resolve it, in that case definitely write down the solution neatly.

Where is this question from ? I personally didn’t like this question because it softly implies that water has the same density as concentrate which I don’t think would be the case IRL. If water was half the density of concentrate then 12 oz conc + 18 oz water would be combined to make 30 oz OJ.
