BB 2 blanker TC

That dealers ------- enough to nurture a young modern painter’s career rather than plunder it exist is not impossible, but the public’s ------- appetite for modern art makes such dealers less and less likely.

(A) chivalrous … discriminating
(B) magnanimous … quirky
(C ) patient … insatiable
(D) cynical. .finicky
(E) reckless … zealous

So the first blank would be a +ve word because they are helping young painters and not ruining their careers. I couldn’t really find a “specific word” that indicates that the first blank should be a positive word. What strategy would you use in the first blank? Usage/Grammar strategy?

The second blank will be a negative word. “but” indicates contrast and the phrase before “but” is +ve so the phrase after “but” should be -ve.

Based on this, I was confused b/w options A and C. Both are +ve in the 1st blank and -ve in the second. The correct answer is C but what is the evidence?

Thanks in advance!

C fits more apt with words highlighted in the bold.
