BB Doubt I RC Passage I Test 25

Here, (A) and (D) seem to me as saying similar things- both talk about how a singularity is formed. I actually bent towards (D), because (A) also says “nature” of singularity, and I couldn’t identify this from the passage

Would be very helpful if you could support me in the correct logic and evidence here, thanks!

The answer is A –> it is describing the formation (massive star’s collapse continues until a singularity is reached) and nature (outgoing light rays are dragged back …., observer cannot see it…)

Why answer can’t be E –> You cannot observe it (even if you get close) because light itself is dragged back by gravity. The last paragraph talks about the impossibility of observing a singularity.

Thanks a lot, understand the logic behind (A). Wanted to follow up here, why can’t D be the asnwer too? That’s also talking about formation of singularity

Explaining what happens during the stages of singularity’s formation –> not given in the passage. I think the point the author was trying to make was that we don’t know the stages of formation or anything much about the singularity because it is not amenable to observation.

Hope this helps!
