Answer given is B

But why can’t we select D as an answer? If R is present anywhere in the system, couldn’t it be on the x-axis too? If that’s the case it would have co-ordinates (5,0) and the distance (OR) would be 5 (Option D)
In any other case x co-ordinate would be less than 5.

So by equal not equal strategy it would be option D.

I feel I’m either missing something obvious or we can’t move the point elsewhere.

Quant Question - Why answer is not D?

Big book quant question. How the answer is B? Cannot R be on X-axis, R(5,0) ? They have only mentioned that R is a point in the rectangular coordinate system. If they had given R is not on axis, then it would be true that B is correct answer. but they have not mentioned it. [image]
