Hi, I’m looking for an explanation on what you tried (i.e, your attempt).
I didn’t get too far with this but here is what I think:
If we draw a line from O to Y that will be the radius (also the hypotenuse)
Angle Y is opposite 5.8 and Angle Q is opposite 5.9 therefore Angle Y will be less than Angle Q. Both triangles share the 90 degree angle, if Angle Y < angle Q, then angle O for the bottom triangle will be greater than Angle O for the top triangle, therefore making the half of XY bigger than half of PQ
That works, though you can also deduce this by “sliding” XY/PQ and showing that as the distance from O to the line increases, the length of the chord decreases.
