For blank(i) I will reuse the word opposition (which means conflict) due to lack of any contrasting words before blank(i), Now, because there is opposition going on between technology and intellectual (or human) the ideas of them will be in contrast with each other. Thus, looking at the sentence after the blank(ii) we have human described as bad hence, we need to put technology as good.
