I approached this question the following way:
(Cynics believe people who ______ compliments do so)–(+) in order to–(+) (be praised twice.)–(+)
The second piece says that they want more praise (twice) so it means they should praise back. I understand that the general logic would say that in order to get the praise you need to reject it but I can’t conclude it just based on the text.
Could someone explain what am I missing here?
