I understand why the answer is B. My confusion comes from setting them equal to each other, so the “a” drops out.
bc = (b+c)
From here the answer would then be A. I thought you could do this for QC problems.

We don’t divide by variables , just add or subtract them
To add to that you CAN divide by a variable if it is positive (cannot be 0 either)
Dividing something by a negative integer changes the direction of inequality
or example
If A = 15, B = 20
B > A
But if I divide them by -5, I get
A = -3, B = -4
In which case A < B
