Q19: Enormous interstellar distance ( “space is so vast” ) → so little material … significant (~ option A)
Option C does look right but option A is a direct answer with no wrong word in it (POE)
In video greg mentioned there is no reference to “star” in option A, but i didnt find any necessity of that.
Q18: I used Block of 4
density is less → bcoz “Enormous interstellar distance” is more
Density should be higher —> where interstellar distance (distance between stars is less)
Hence A also seems a correct ans with the analysis
Can anyone help me to understand what part of my analysis is wrong and how to eliminate option A in both the questions?
It’s one of the classic trap of GRE. Provide the same wording that is used in the passage so that you’ll immediately fall in love with the answer without going into the details.
If you carefully link into the information that is quoted in the passage : “Only because of enormous interstellar distance”(another way of saying: because space is so vast) \rightarrowso little material per unit of volume becomes so significant v/s what is given in option (A): little of the interstellar material in it seems substantial(This means if the space was not vast then more of the interstellar material in it will seems substantial → opposite of what is said in the para)
Q)18
you need to look at the following sentence in the para : “The rest is hydrogen and helium… shapes and sizes” and you’ll arrive at E
if you look at the passage it is pointed out that “the density of interstellar material is very very low and it comes in various shape and size” that’s all and then the next sentence talks about the relationship with distance and due to the distance it is significant! (That’s it ). Nowhere in there it connects “density” with distance rather the connection is b/w significant and distance. So, Block of 4 will be
Vast distance —> interstellar material : significant
Less distance → interstellar material : insignificant
Option 1 talks about higher which we have no support for ! plus on what basis you’ll eliminate E ?
