Big book test TC doubts

Hey guys can you explain these 2 questions on how should I go about it step by step?

So here in the 6th question, since it is written small lab, I equated it to negative. And last word complexity made me choose option D.
For the 7th question, I connected startling with high and so concluding that it might have resulted in wrong finding for which redo is required.

  1. In six , I think your logic is opposite ,
    I would attack 2nd blank first…

(rich hurly burly of plant and animal communities) [reduced] to a scientific ------complexity.

Reduced (-)

Variety reduced to simple …(I see complexity as trap because that is a word there definitely but REDUCED to is striking to me), with this we are to option B/E

Then word Because, support (+) , because such process makes the variety to simple or managable , Scientists Accept/Reject it but Reject would contrast so go with Accept. B is synonyms of Reject. so E

in 7. I think if something is startling , that does not mean, its high necessarily, it could be low.

I will put the first blank as same surprising/astonishing , because words THAT is support(startling finding that…) now with this B/E is wrong because that hints not surprising , now second blank obviously you got right reasoning …

Surprising finding has necessitated the recheck/redo so with that remaining option, A/C/D , technically I would not eliminate any if at all C because rejection is too strong , so with first logic of surprising only I would cross out D as unobservable is off topic from surprising , same for C as indeterminate to me may or may not be surprising and the rejection is strong

@madcowsgaming bro, I would like too seek your opinion on this
