Can someone explain the answer of this question?

The answer is b, but i did not understand why :frowning: Any help will be appreciated! tks

As this line passes 2 points with known coordinates: (0,0) and (3,2)
The slope can be calculated as: y2 - y1/ x2 - x1 = (2-0)/(3-0) = 2/3
Intercept = 0 (as it passes the origin)
Equation: y = 2x/3

If x = 4.8
y = 2 * 4.8/ 3 = 3.2

thank you so much!!

Draw a perpendicular line from x axis to both the point, you will get 2 similar triangles. It shares the same angles from 0,0 . Both has perpendicular so 90⁰ and finally what ever remains will also be the same.

Now that we know they are similar triangles, just use their ratio
3/2 = 4.8/y
You’ll get y = 3.2
