I am not able to understand whether it would be a good reason or a bad one
also what is meaning of potent dread
Greg said secretary belongs to capitol and congressperson to the white house isnt this outside information??
I have no idea about US politics
Let just put Thing 1 in-place of Capitol and Thing 2 in-place of White House and Group 1 and Group 2 as Secretary and Congressman
Now, the blank is something to with reason and that reason is the potent dread
→ very strong fear that Group1 is feeling towards Group 2 .
Then we re-read the whole sentence " A more _________ reason could not be given " meaning there is no better explanation for the above scenario then one described hence, we can choose a word like apt or relevant for the blank and look for similar words
\huge{\text{OR}}
Without even reading the question → Go to answer choices and make pairs → Only starightforward pair for me is apposite and apropos → Mark it as the answer → Read the question now
I still dont understand ur first reasoning for choosing apposite and apropos ( even though I do understand its the only pair)
Why cant we choose something negative here like worse reason, isnt potent dead negative ?
I approach this problem with very simple terms, like “good” and “bad”.
“A more good reason could not be given why two people who hate each other work in buildings far apart”
vs
“A more bad reason could not be given why two people who hate each other work in buildings far apart”
When I simplify, I hear that as “there’s a good reason why these buildings are far apart, and that’s because Secretaries hate Congresspersons.”
