Can we move the points? Geometry

In this question, it does not say that the inscribed triangle and pentagon share a vertex. In the case that they do not share a vertex, the arc distance AB can obviously be more or less than \frac{2\pi}{3}.

Thoughts? I feel in these QC questions it’s standard that unless they tell us something explicitly we should not assume it. Eg, oftentimes a line that looks like it goes through the center of the circle we should not assume actually does.

I think that’s clear enough from the diagram.

There are some “common sense” things that you can assume. See page 14 of https://www.ets.org/pdfs/gre/gre-math-conventions-18-point.pdf for an example.

I too had a hard time figuring out what we can assume in GRE before reading math conventions :sweat_smile:
