Cannot understand why answer is A


In the screenshot attached, my understanding was that there can be many a+b combinations which would result into 2.666…

Hence, I selected the relationship cannot be determined. However, the answer explanation states that 2.666 would be 8/3, and 8+3 = 11. Therefore, correct answer choice is A.

I think I understood. In my head, I thought there can be a situation where 4.something / 2 would equal 2.666- however, that is faulty given that a & b should be integers. I think I just didn’t think about the problem enough. Thanks again!
