why it will be poor in the blanks when hardly is before the blank??
Since she had access to considerable family wealth that would mean she is rich.
Another way to say someone is rich would be that they are not poor, so hardly poor would mean that she is not poor.
For example - ‘That potato is hardly cooked’ would mean it is raw.
