Compound Interest II Doubt in PrepSwift Quiz. Question 4

I did it the alternate way the solution recommends, “a potentially better alternative is to set x = 4.6 and feed it into the formula. Notice that P would be greater than 3280 , which means that the true interest rate must be less than 4.6 %.”

The figure I got was also bigger than 3280, but I did not understand how that corresponds to a true interest rate being lower than 4.6%

If 4.6% were the true interest rate, we should have a value = 3280

Since we got a value > 3280, it means the interest was greater with this interest rate of 4.6, than with x

Hence the interest rate 4.6 > x
