Confusion in the Solution!

I was solving the Vocab Quiz HourOctober 19, 2020” And in this question “#41” I got “proclivity” as the answer, however, in the solution Greg said it would be “antipathy”.

I just wanted to explain my thought process and try to understand where I went wrong. For me, it goes: “His PROCLIVITY (Inclination) for liberal economic theory was well-known, but that didn’t preclude (“Stop him, despite being inclined”) Dr. Jones from ranting endlessly about its flaws to the few who would listen at conferences.”

Like if he has hatred or antipathy towards something he will eventually rant about it, why would anything be stopping him from doing that?

Attached is the SS of the Question on Screen~

This is a tricky question.

Think of it from this angle:

Even though everyone already knew about his dislike for pizza, he still kept talking about how bad it was.

The contrast here is between being “well known” and him “ranting endlessly”, and not between “flaws” and the blank.
