I don’t understand how the 2nd option is not also a solution.

clearly the slope is -2 and is shown by greg in the video.

8y + 16x = -10 divide by 8

y + 2x = (-10/8)
y = -2x - (10/8)

This should be parallel to the original line. Can someone explain where I went wrong.

That line is literally the same as the original equation. I think Greg was going for the fact that parallel lines can’t intersect - here it’s intersecting at every point.
