I have a question regarding the figure. Initially, I thought that the figure didn’t necessarily need to resemble the first one, since the length of 3 could also represent the hypotenuse. However, upon closer inspection, I realized that because the question specifies “horizontally,” it should be depicted like the second figure. In trying to solve it using the first figure, I complicated things unnecessarily. I would like to confirm whether the phrase in the question stating that “the base of the parallelogram is a horizontal line” is the only reason why the base lies on the x-axis? or if there’s another mathematical reasoning involved as well. Your response would be greatly appreciated.
