In my view, yes. The first idea conveys that more the independence, more the loneliness. In order to satisfy the first idea, the first blank (about freedom) should be a negative word since the first idea is negative. This allows us to trickle down to options C and E. There’s no evidence given for irreparability. So the best choice is C.

so as we see no contrasting words we go with the same idea that was before the blank and it described independent as isolated and lonely ,hence, for blank one we will go with a negative idea. Now, when we solved the blank i , blank ii will become easier as its saying that we need do to something to this -ve condition —> avoid or escape it
