Critical Reasoning totally perplexed

Would someone be so kind as to explain these choices to me and why they are wrong/right? Answer is B. I thought it would have to do something with them not leaving a smell but there was no choice like that

This is a question where it is impossible to really make a guess before looking at the answers. there are simply too many ways in which the explanation in the passage can be supported. So we just go down the answer choices and eliminate until we find the right answer.

A) This is irrelevant to why ospreys don’t retrace paths for winter flounder. It could even weaken the argument because fish that are hard to catch should be less attractive to follow.
B) This implies that its worthless to retrace the paths for winter flounder. Because they dont move in schools, there are presumably no benefits to looking around the area where the one fish was caught: there is no school of fish to track. This kind of matches up with “retrace its flight path in hopes of good fishing.” Theres no hope of good fishing because there is no flounder school.
C) Irrelevant
D) Irrelevant because both winter flounder and pollack have the coloring despite only one being ignored by other birds
E) Irrelevant

Thank you so much Kevin, my confusion has cleared up!
