Diagonistic test results are extremely off than my expectations

So I gave the power prep 1 diagnostic and scored 140 in Verbal and 169 in Quants.
I didn’t expect such low score in verbal.

I went through the @gregmat 's Walkthroughs and I understood my mistakes.

  1. Extremely poor knowledge of Vocabulary.
  2. Not thoroughly understanding the passage and the exact questions it was asking.
  3. And being paranoid regarding the results before the exams.

I wanted to improve my vocabulary as soon as possible so that I can atleast understand the options, sentences and passages for Sentence Equivalence and Text completion.
The major issue is, I do not have any strategy or plan (can say desultory) on improving my vocabulary.

It would be really helpful if I atleast get a lead on how do I exactly start with my vocabulary and get better with it or at the very least be familiar with the words.

I am currently on Week 1 Day 7 of the 2 Month Plan.

Thank you.

Pick a vocab list to start with, stick to that list until its done , look at that list everyday until the end of your prep.

So I am currently at Set 3 of the vocab list provided in week 1.
Do I take the list containing all the 28 sets and do I study the meanings of all words?
Cause that does seem a little daunting. : (

Yes, learning new vocab is pain in the ass. you definitely should master 28 groups because I found that a small portion of words in his list actually are frequently used in news, podcasts, and journal articles. so no reason to not be familiar with them.
Not sure about your verbal goal in the GRE, if you are aiming for 160+ on verbal, you also need to read a lot, just study vocab is not enough. However, his list could easily carry you to about 155 range.

Hi, I would probably just continue going through the one-month plan. It’s still early days for your verbal development.
