Hi, I was attending the lecture Dedicated Reading Strategy Season 2 Session 10.
I wonder if the assertion is considered as the main idea too.
I googled the difference and found out that all assertions are main ideas whereas not all main ideas are assertions. Also, I figured out that assertions are usually written in a positive. But if the assertion is a strong version of the main idea, why would we like to separate it from the main idea, calling it “assertion”?
