A few days ago, I took the Manhattan Prep 1st mock test and scored 152V and 153Q ( without prior timed practice). Since I have been preparing for the GRE for six months, I was, of course, dissatisfied. Today, I did the untimed version of the 1st ETS mock test, which took me around 3 hours, mostly spent on RCs. In the first section of Quant, I got 2 wrong, and in the second section, I got 1 wrong. In Verbal, I got 4 wrong in the first section and 9 wrong in the second.
My target score is 155V and 165Q. What can I infer from this? I have already spent a lot of time on foundation work, including Prepswift, flashcard quizzes (not all), foundation quizzes, Google Form quizzes, and currently progress quizzes. I also worked through GregMat’s easy and medium Quant problems, Manhattan 5lb Quant problems, and ETS easy, medium, and hard problems from the official guide and practice book.
I have a maximum of 35 days left until my test. What should my strategy be moving forward? I appreciate your help. @ganesh
Last time we had a long chat on the following issues.
It’s likely that you are in the memorization stage. It doesn’t mean you didn’t learn well, but you haven’t memorized enough to be able to recall these things quickly.
Thank you for taking the time to review my problem. I watched the “You Are Probably in the Memorization Stage” video. I also took the rapid-fire quiz, as you suggested, and I struggled on a couple of questions from each topic on timing. The following are the scores I received on the rapid-fire quiz (Correct/Total):
I am currently doing a quant progress quiz, and I plan to follow the two-month plan from week 5, mostly focusing on quant strategies and tricks. After that, I plan to review the PrepSwift super quiz, the GregMat super quiz, medium and easy super questions, 5 lb. questions, and lastly, ETS questions. and also few mock mock test and timed practice as well. I have one month remaining before my exam. Would this be a good plan, or what would you suggest? @ganesh
It looks good, to me! Foundation building, strategies and time management. You can also maybe try doing some untimed practice with harder quant questions if you want, just to get that fourth key.
