Doubt in Practice Seeion 3

this phrase – Far from viewing Jefferson as a skeptical but enlightened intellectual. I thought that it means Jefferson is actually a skeptical person but he is viewed as an intellectual and so I filled the first blank with skeptical After spending a lot of time I understood that but in “skeptical but enlightened intellectual” is functioning similar to “and”… Was this a rookie mistake on my side or is there something I can look for to avoid such misinterpretation?

Try breaking the sentence up into ideas, and practice idea chunking. What are the ideas in this sentence do you think?

can you share link to idea chunking class

Jefferson is an orthodox person and not receptive to ideas he did not like, so if we look at the evidence after the comma, then i can fill the blank with orthodox.

Hi, the following class covers idea chunking:

TC and SE Dedicated Class - Season 4, Session 1

I followed the 2024 edition TC and SE, but there idea Chunking was not covered explicitly I believe. Do I need to watch any old videos

Yeah, I would watch this one, because you’re not splitting the sentence correctly here

Am I right here that but is functioning like and in “skeptical but intellectual”
