How did you infer that the main idea before the semi colon is of preventing conflict? What I inferred was that the main idea before the semi colon points to the inability of managers to recognize the reason of conflicts.

Can’t say, have been a long time since I looked at the strategies , Currently, I just try to find support/contrast without diving deep into the specifics!
