Doubt on a Short passage question

my question is why not option D?( I mean what is wrong in Option D)

my reason for not chosing option A is because in Option A, “atleast three” is mentioned it means three or more than three hypothesis is possible. But in the passage it was mentioned that this resistance could be from any three hypothesis.

It says “Certain symbiotic associations also increase the plant’s resistance to harmful fungi”. This suggests that the resistance comes from the “symbiotic association” mentioned earlier between the plant and M Fungi. So we can’t say that the resistance might be independent of M Fungi.

1. Exclusion of harmful fungi
2. Competition for Sites
3. Metabolic Change involving Antibiotic Production
4. Increased Vigor
