Equilateral Triangle Side Bisector

In this lesson, a perpendicular is dropped from the top vertex to the opposite side. And somehow the perpendicular bisects this side into equal parts, as shown below:

Was this concept taught in an earlier PrepSwift video that I might have missed?

Not sure if there’s a previous video but it’s a geometric math fact that dropping the perp inside an equilateral triangle bisects both the apex angle (where the perp is dropped) and the side the perp lands on into two equal halves.
