When writing my essay, I was considering adding on my outline “Although innovation is essential for X, knowledge is a priority in terms of A and B”.
Basically saying "although [concession], I believe in [reason 1] and [reason 2]. Is there a recommendation against mentioning my concession before my reason 1 and 2?
There’s no hard and set rule for writing these, but I have always been a fan of the rebuttal prior to my own arguments as it shows thoughtfulness as to opposing views as well as responses to those views.
Tl;dr: I like the formatting, but remember that there are many different ways of writing and conveying your arguments. It’s definitely more of an art than a science in my opinion.
