I am having problem in blank one of the question according to me it should be secure.
My thought process: first blank2- for this I got the hint from the right side sentence “biologist are investigating on habitat loss”, so this blank should be falling.
now blank 3 is a support of just previous sentence, so this will be decline.
now in blank 1 there is a while which should indicate contrast so the answer should be secure but it’s precarious (support’s the sentence on the right side but it should contrast).

This is what we call an “extreme” contrast. While most people are quite intelligent, John is extremely brilliant.
Notice how “brilliant” is the more extreme version of “intelligent.”
In this case how to understand what exactly is the contrast?
If the answer choice didn’t have “secure” and something completely unrelated then it would have been easy to choose “precarious”. But then, we have both in place. What additional evidence can we spot here?
Is it the word particularly??
The word “while” signals the contrast and the word “particularly” signals it’s one of those “extreme” contrasts.
