Could you please help me understand why the third blank is ‘sophisticated fearlessness’ and not ‘wary vigilance’? When solving the question I was confused between the two.
The “and” after “easygoing smile” says that blank 3 has to be something good, so it’s either a sophisticated fearlessness or a wary vigilance.
Because blank 2 is aplomb, sophisticated fearlessness is a better fit than wary vigilance. Also, it doesn’t make sense to do something “outrageous” in a “wary” way.
