I am a bit confused why the answer is the 1st and last choice. I chose the second choice because the result is a sum between 1 and 2.
Note that the question is asking you to pick two choices such that when you add them up, the result is between 1 and 2. Thus, you cannot only pick one choice. Also, you can just add the first and the last choice and chech what you get.
7(2^3) = 7x8 = 56
3^3 - 7 = 27-7 = 20
56/20 = 2.8
-11^2 - 11^3 = -1452
-1452/44 = -33
-33/33 = -1
2.8 - 1 = 1.8 which is between 1 and 2
