Full Practice Test Beta 2 (Harder Quant section)

I recently took this test, and unfortunately, my quant score wasn’t as good as I had hoped.

First, I want to say that the test is beautifully designed! It’s challenging but stays rooted in basic concepts, presented in a unique and thought-provoking way—truly impressive.

During the test, I found that I struggled to apply those core concepts under time pressure. Interestingly, once the test was over, I could understand the questions and their solutions more clearly. It seems that if I’ve seen a similar type of question before, I can navigate through it more confidently. However, if a question is entirely unfamiliar, I tend to freeze, and my mind just stops working.

What would you suggest I do in such situations? The test made me realize that everything boils down to understanding and applying core concepts. While I feel comfortable explaining these concepts in isolation (e.g., I can confidently describe what a normal distribution is), I find it difficult to apply them when they’re presented in a tricky or unconventional way.

I’d greatly appreciate any advice on how to improve in this area. Thank you for your help!
