Geometry: Right angled triangle question

Can someone please explain why 8 will be one of the answers? According to Right Angle Triangle, Hypotenuse is the longest side but here the example being taken for the other 2 sides is 1,7. I this case 7 would be the biggest side and not Hypotenuse.

Just my supposition (I don’t know if it’s the right point).
SideA+SideB= 8
So it can be 7+1=8
So, 7^2+1^2=50
√50= 7.07

is it valid?
A+B>H, H+A>B, H+B>A……well, i would say yes also for 8 :white_check_mark:

Hi,
7*7=49
And √50 has to be bigger than 7 so hypotenuse is still the biggest side.
In fact you can check it by putting it in the calculator too!
