There is a rumour going on that at-home tests are given less credibility by admissions officers than tests given at the centre. Can someone share insights into this claim?
Currently, I have both these options available to me and would prefer the at-home option, but I need to be sure that it doesn’t send me at a disadvantage.

Check the admission page of the universities you’re applying to for details in such matters.
Universities do not know which version of the test you’ve taken, so I would say no.
