Gre big book test 1 section 1 question 4

Hi,
My question is related to the attached question shown below:-

My approach was as follows:-
i)I saw the logic words “only to” and “which”,eventually concluding the ideas are supporting each other because of “which”.
ii)It had to be positive connotation and I chose “all” as my semantic.
iii)I removed dangerous because of contradiction with my connotation.
iv)Removed similar and uncommon because they were not going with my semantic.
v)I eventually chose "most "because it was the better choice amongst the two option.
But,the answer key shows "alternative "is the answer can someone please explain why "alternative"is a better choice than “most”.

Hey, I think Greg considers this to be a “bad” question, so it might not be susceptible to strategy. Don’t worry if the strategy didn’t work here.

We really need a word like “non-genetic” here, and “alternative” best conveys that idea. “Most” could include genetic, we just don’t know.

But again, might not be a great question.

oh thank you for replying

I chose “most” and saw that “alternative” is the answer and lost every ounce of confidence with which I attempt TC questions

Does it make sense to lose all your faith/confidence with one (in this case not even a good one) question?
