I am writing to find out what the score distribution in the GRE is - specifically for Quant.
What scores do 1,2,3 mistakes typically result in? Of course it depends case by case, but a range or broad indication would be helpful, since i need a 168+ and would like to know how likely I am to manage this score.

I want to preface that I cannot give an exact range because each test varies → whatever I say should not be taken as a guarantee and there is room for error. Generally, 3-4 questions is the maximum you can get wrong to get 168+, but it could be less (1 or 2 for a particular test). I cannot give an exact answer for 1,2,3 or 4 mistakes because it varies.
I would do your best and make sure to iron out any weaknesses to ensure you perform your best on test day.
Good point @Ryan - every minute someone spends thinking about this is a minute they could have spent getting better at quant.
