Gre Greg Quiz Medium Difficulty

Hi,

I wasn’t able to understand the explanation given for this.
Can anyone please explain the solution for this ?

@gregmat @HoldMyBeer

Can you elaborate on how did you attempted it ?

I know that the probability of Red Ball is 18/37
and the probability of Not a Red Ball i.e the casino winning is 19/37

How do I go forward now ?

So you could just multiply 18/37 x 300 to get the expected number of wins. You could then compare that to the total to find out how many more times the house is expected to win.

ahh so you mean to say that probability is nothing but chance of something happening
Hence 18 out of 37 games player wins and 19 out of 37 games casino wins so casino has one extra win
So 1/37 games casino wins more and multiply it with 300 we get 8.108
which is nothing but 8
Is my assumption correct ?

Yeah, that works
