Hi all. I took GRE test on May 18, preparing for 20 days in total. I practiced Nova maths and nothing for verbal. I scored 158 Q and 135 V and 4 in analytical writing. I am very nervous for verbal. I took the Gregmat 2 months for verbal but once I complete week 1, I am still back to zero in verbal. How do I practice in a month time and I am a working professional so I can only give 4 hours a day at max. How should I go through the study materials?
Hey there, first off great job on your performance. It is a solid start I totally get the point about being nervous about verbal, but you’ve got a month, and with 4 hrs/day, you can make real progress.
I suggest you stick to GregMat and official ETS materials.
With about roughly 4 hours a day:
You can spend about say…
- 2 hrs: GregMat videos + homework => Learning concepts like in Quant / Verbal strategies like TC etc
- 1 hr: Vocab Mountain + Review your error log
- 1 hr: Practising strategies you learnt
You can try alternating between Quant and Verbal or do one aspect on even days and the other on odd days.
You can consider structuring your learning with a 1-month or 2-month plan on gregmat but do note that everyone’s learning style and pace differs …
Tips:
- Use Anki or GregMat vocab app on the go. This helps you save time
- Do RC passages when your brain is freshest (mornings if possible).
- Stick with GregMat only please, no need to jump around.
You’ve got this!
