Can anyone please let me know how “affecting” and “poignant” are synonyms?
According to my understanding affecting means artificial or atleast thats what ETS assumes the definition to be while poignant has to do with sad emotions.
Hi user562, I looked up the webster dictionary defining the synonyms of affecting and it says “affecting” and “poignant” both mean having the power to produce deep emotion. Hope this will help
