GRE Time Management

Hi,

I am looking for an effective detail time management plan for the test. Considering the timer is a down timer-

  1. In what sequence I should answer the verbal questions (SE>TC> short or long paragraph/critical reasoning ) and the quant questions ( QC first or later, DI-in the middle or last)?
  2. Since it’s a downtimer at what time I should be at what number of questions or finish answering how many questions? How many times I should look at the timer? (Looking at the timer always creates panic in me)?
  3. when to know that you should skip a question?
  4. Those who manage to solve a quant problem after skipping and coming back later, how do you do so, I mean is there any particular strategy?

Watch this.

Almost all of the things that you mentioned depends on individual experience. I have seen many people approach the test same way as how Greg approaches it but Greg’s pattern of taking the test is designed to maximizes his strengths. For eg: As Greg has a brilliant command over the vocab that’s why he approaches SE first as it very easy for him to find pairs. I would highly encourage you review and experiment when you prep , find your strength and weakness and develop your own plan on how to tackle each section.
